OUR SIMPLE FFL TRANSFER PROCESS

Completing an FFL transfer at Freedom Arms is a straightforward process designed to keep you compliant with all state and federal regulations.
 

• Step 1:

Purchase your firearm from your chosen online retailer or out-of-state seller.


• Step 2:
Select Freedom Arms as your receiving FFL during checkout, or contact us to send a copy of our license directly to the seller.

• Step 3:

Wait for shipping and tracking confirmation that your firearm has been successfully delivered to our Loudon facility.


• Step 4:

Allow us up to 24 hours to properly receive and process the firearm into our acquisition books, we will call you directly when it is ready.


• Step 5:

Visit our shop with your valid New Hampshire identification to complete your ATF paperwork, pass your background check, and take your firearm home.

IMPORTANT POLICIES FOR FIREARM TRANSFERS

When picking up your firearm, you must be the exact original purchaser listed on the seller's invoice. You will need to provide a current, valid, government-issued photo ID establishing your physical New Hampshire residency. Background checks are mandatory for all transfers, and we strictly enforce all federal ATF guidelines to ensure the safety of our community.

We highly recommend that you inspect your firearm thoroughly before completing the transfer paperwork, as any returns, warranty issues, or manufacturer defects must be handled directly with the original seller once the transfer is finalized.

How long does an FFL transfer background check take?

In most cases, the federal background check takes only a few minutes to process while you wait in our shop. However, the system can sometimes experience delays requiring a longer wait period, which is determined by the federal system and outside of our direct control.

What documentation do I need to bring to pick up my transferred firearm?

You must bring a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a New Hampshire driver's license, that displays your current physical residential address. The name on your ID must match the name on the purchase invoice exactly.

Will you contact me as soon as my tracking shows the firearm is delivered?

We ask that you wait for us to contact you before coming to the shop. Even if your tracking shows as delivered, we are legally required to unpack, inspect, and log the firearm into our acquisition books before we can begin the transfer process with you.

Do you accept FFL transfers shipped from private individuals?

For liability and compliance reasons, we strictly require all firearm shipments to originate from another licensed FFL dealer. We do not accept shipments sent directly from private, unlicensed individuals.

What happens if my background check is denied during a transfer?

If your background check is denied, we cannot legally transfer the firearm to you. You will be responsible for contacting the original seller to arrange a return, and you will be responsible for any return shipping fees or restocking charges required by that seller.
